Wedding Coordinator Description
A Wedding Coordinator is a professional responsible for ensuring that a couple’s wedding day runs smoothly and according to plan. Acting as the main point of contact on the wedding day, the coordinator oversees all logistical details, manages timelines, and ensures that vendors, guests, and the wedding party are in the right place at the right time. Their goal is to allow the couple and their families to relax and enjoy the celebration without stress or confusion.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the execution of the wedding day timeline and schedule
Liaise with vendors (caterers, florists, musicians, photographers, etc.) to confirm arrangements and troubleshoot issues
Assist with ceremony and reception setup and breakdown
Manage the wedding party and ensure everyone is on schedule for key moments (e.g., procession, speeches, cake cutting)
Handle any last-minute emergencies or changes with professionalism and discretion
Ensure a smooth transition between events (ceremony to reception, meal service to dancing, etc.)
Provide support to the couple and their families throughout the event
Skills and Qualifications:
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems quickly
Detail-oriented with a flair for logistics
Experience in event planning, preferably in weddings
Knowledge of local vendors and wedding trends
